In Japan and China, companies and authorities are more closely linked than in the Netherlands. What is the historic background? What are the consequences for foreign competitors? Which forces are endangering the economies of the two countries? And which strategies do the heads of government embrace to deal with the problems?

Zowel in Japan als in China zijn de banden tussen het bedrijfsleven en de autoriteiten veel hechter dan in Nederland. Hoe is dat zo gekomen? Wat betekent het voor buitenlandse concurrenten? Welke welke gevaren bedreigen de economiën van beide landen? En welke stategiën voeren de regeringsleiders om de problemen aan te pakken?
